Well, it really doesn’t matter where you live, you would really, really want a shop like this one nearby! This is one fabulous grocery, deli and wine shop!

Family run, the Main Street Market feels like your corner store, even though it is a large store. The people are friendly, they help you out to your car with the bags (don’t try to tip them – they cannot take tips – they are just doing their job), the selection is excellent and quality great. In our humble opinion, this is the all-around nicest food store in Door County. And if you are looking for a nice bottle of wine, you have perhaps the largest selection in Door County right here – about 1,000 labels!

We shop here all the time.

The Groceries
They have everything from fresh meats to paper cups, kitchen gadgets and more. Stroll down the shopping aisles, which all bear a street-type name, like “Cannery Row,” “Soup Can Alley,” or “Health and Beauty Boulevard.” The store is immaculate. The staff is always available for assistance. The owners are often seen stocking the shelves. This is my kind of store. You will find whatever it is you are looking for. There is a lot here. All your typical groceries, from cereals to frozen foods, from fresh meats (we ordered our Thanksgiving turkey here!) to snacks. Spices, sauces, pastas and rices of many varieties, soups, cookies, cheeses, breads, smoked salmon, cooked shrimp, fresh fruits and vegetables and Door County jams and preserves. Awesome. You feel right at home here.

THE DELI
You want cheese? How about 5 different kinds of Swiss or 7 different cheddars? You’ll also find homemade salads like Baked Beans, Blue Cheese Potato Salad, or Bacon Tomato Pasta. Fresh sandwiches for the road or picnic, cold cuts and more.

And Main Street Market has a bakery too, with fresh Door County Coffee and baked goods!

And you will find a nice selection of magazines and novels for your reading pleasure.

Spirits! Wine, Beer, Liquor

If you cannot find wine or beer here that you will like, you do not like wine or beer!

WINE
Let’s take a look at the wine selection. There are about 1,000 labels and to choose from, which run the gamut from Australian Shiraz to Napa Chardonnays and from about $9 a bottle to about $159 a bottle. You will find the perfect wine to match your dinner or mood. There are locally made Door County wines, and 1997 Beringer Cabernets. The selection of Napa wines is enormous. There are wines from Italy like Chianti Classico Riserva from the Banfi vineyards (excellent), and Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio. France weighs in with lots of Bordeaux, Pouilluy-Fuisse, Cote du Rhone, Chateau Neuf du Pape, and Perrin Reserve (HINT: this is an EXCELLENT red wine from France, rated like 89 points and only about $10 a bottle – this is a steal!). Spain is also well represented.

And you will find all the wine accessories you need too, from corkscrews to Wine Enthusiast ™ and even Riedel wine glasses.

So whether you want wine from Door County or around the world, you will find a great selection right here at Main Street Market!

BEER
Well, you will have a similar experience if you are looking for beer. There is an awesome selection from Germany, for example: Hacker-Pschorr, Becks, Paulaner, Warsteiner, Spaten, St. Pauli Girl, Ayinger. Other options include Grolsch, Heineken, Red Stripe from Jamaica, and Peroni or Moretti from Italy. A Czech beer? Yes – Czechvar! How about a San Miguel, Dos Equis, Tecate, Pacifico? All here. Representing Canada are Labatt’s and Molson. And there are some “unusual” beers too, like Dogfish Head, or Two Hearted Ale, Hop Ottin’ and JPA India Pale Ale. Red Point, Sierra Nevada, Amstel and all the unusual suspects are here as well!

Wow – what a selection. Like we said, if you cannot find a beer here you like, you don’t like beer!

LIQUOR
If you are looking for a Scotch or a vodka, a great rum, look no further. Main Street Market carries a vast range of each of the major categories. For example, in the vodka camp, you can find bottles from Smirnoff to Belvedere. The Scotch ranges from Lauders to The Glenlivet (about $60+ dollars a bottle), Macallan and more.

This is a complete store with so much to offer, in a friendly shopping environment, right in the heart of Egg Harbor. But if you are staying anywhere, even further north, make Main Street Market your place to shop – you will love the experience, selection and people who make this one of the best places to shop, anywhere!
