Places to Stay : Sister bay

Village View Inn
414 Bay Shore Rd
Sister Bay
920-854-2813

Snuggled on a wooded acre, but right in the heart of Sister Bay, Village View offers one great value for the people who want see the most Door County has to offer – and all for under $100 in peak season!

We toured the property, which houses 18 rooms across a total of 6 buildings. The original building is the second oldest standing building in Sister Bay! Pictures on the wall outside the office detail some of the changes the building has gone through, with one picture showing the building in 1907!

All the bedding is brand new as of this writing, including mattresses and quilts! This is always a welcomed sign on our tours, and a great advantage for guests. All the rooms have cable TV, a small fridge, air conditioning/heat and Door County artwork throughout.

If you are looking for pools, whirlpools, or a place that allows pets, then move on – the Village View does not have these amenities, but offers a whole lot for less! And you can really walk to the town, shops, restaurants, the town park on the water, the marina and just about everywhere. Park your car in the Village View lot if you are a guest, and walk the town without hassle.

On a full acre of land, the grounds offer a sense of solitude and tranquility, as tall trees rise on the wooded hills behind the motel, and colorful flowers abound. Open May through October, welcoming kids too, you have now discovered along with us a genuine find in Door County.

The Rooms

We toured a good sampling of the available rooms, and found them all to be neat, exceptionally clean (the cleanest you can imagine – these rooms are immaculate!), and functionally furnished to offer enough style and comfort to suit your needs. There are smoking and non-smoking rooms available. These rooms are spotless! We have been in lots of places to stay, reviewing lots of rooms – we can tell you: clean, clean, clean is the watchword here – unbelievable! The owners get 2 – 3 comments a day from guests about how clean everything is – that, we can tell you, is an awesome testimonial.

Room # 2 has 2 double beds, a table and 2 chairs, and is really a generous sized room; TV and the rest of the standard works too.

Room # 4 has 2 queen beds and a private sitting porch facing the wooded hill that rings and defines the property.

Room # 6: has two double beds, a TV, dresser, nice artwork on the walls!

Room # 8, a designated smoking room, has a queen bed, and a table and two chairs, along with the TV, etc.

Room # 14: this room sports a single queen bed and a private deck, which affords a view of the bay. Yes – you can see water here! This is a very nice room – and with a view from the deck!

The bathrooms in all the rooms were equally spotless, tastefully functional, and have a tub/shower combination.

As a guideline, rates range from about $57 - $95 per room (based on configuration) even in peak season! Always check with the Village View website for current and accurate rates (as rates change from time to time).

We can see why Village View gets a lot of repeat guests. SO what do real guests say about Village View?

  • They LOVE the location – you really CAN walk (a short walk) to restaurants, parks, shops and more
  • Clean! They LOVE the cleanliness of the place and keep telling the owners how clean, sharp and totally adequate the rooms are – and so, Village View provides a great value.

Open May through October, if you are looking for nice accommodations, no frills, no pretense, great folks to deal with (you always deal with the owners themselves, or one of their experienced staff), then you MUST check our Village View – now! We think you will be amazed at the quality of this super-clean place for a price that is hard to beat!

And please tell them that DoorCountyNavigator.com sent you!
