Places to Stay : Egg Harbor The Little One
The Little One’s new owners Peter and Laurie Culp, who also own Nordic Lodge in Sister Bay, have repainted the walls, installed new parquet flooring and landscaped the outdoors. To find the cottage, take Bay Shore Drive north from Sturgeon Bay to Sunset Lane (across from Alpine golf course). Turn left or west, and proceed until you see the water or West Shore Dr., and turn right. Travel about half a mile to the corner of Moonlight and West Shore Dr. The cottage’s driveway is actually on Moonlight. There’s a carport to protect you as you unload luggage. You’ll enter through the galley kitchen. It includes a refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, microwave and coffeemaker.
Paneled walls are freshly painted in a soft coral, and the upholstery on the sofa, loveseat and chairs in the room is a pretty floral pattern with tones of coral and green.
The living area has satellite TV/VCR/DVD and books. The glass doors open to an outdoor patio, where you can enjoy the flower gardens and many birch trees. Relaxing bedrooms – Cottage Sleeps 8
Another bedroom, actually larger in size than the master, has a full-size bed and a twin bed. Decorated in deep shades, it may be the right choice for the boys. For guests’ convenience, tucked behind doors in this room are a washer and dryer. The Little One sleeps eight people in all, and the third bedroom keeps three people comfortable in two twin beds and a sofa/sleeper. The peach-colored bedding harmonizes with the rest of the home.
Near the water “You have access from that road, and you can sit near the water and see a sunset, or kids can play in the water,” Peter says. The Little One is just minutes away from a municipal beach and Murphy Park and about one and a half miles south of the Village of Egg Harbor shops. “And there is good biking from here to Murphy Park and to town,” Peter adds. “It is quiet here, and the house is reasonably priced and nicely decorated. I think people will enjoy it.” The Little One may be a grand decision for you, especially if you seek private accommodations in a residential, yet convenient area of the Door Peninsula.
