General
With about 260 camp sites and facilities available, this is a large offering and perhaps the largest in Door County. There is an outdoor heated pool, modern laundry and shower facilities (with lots of hot water, they say!), a large family game room, a playground, a store, large picnic pavilion, nature trails and more! This is a well thought out facility! With electric hook ups, propane sales, wooded sites, cabins and more, and pleasant folks, you can’t help but to find Door County Camping Retreat a real retreat, and a wonderful opportunity to fulfill your camping wishes in Door County! They now offer about 85 50 amp full hook-up sites for your RVs. These sites can handle the largest of RVs, 45 footer, amidst large, well-spaced and landscaped sites.
The entire campground, store, pool and most facilities occupy about 40 of the 160 acres – the rest is nature! So hike, and have fun. So you can have campsites, RV sites with electric hook up, or a choice of a couple of kinds of cabins! And, you can see the entire campground layout right on their website! In addition, wireless internet access (WiFi) is available in parts of the camp! You can even check the weather from their website. See below for more details on cabins and more.
Cabins
Door County Camping Retreat offers two different kinds of camping cabins to rent. The Rustic Cabin, or the Deluxe.
The Rustic Cabins have a small sitting area or living room, and a bedroom. Complete with electricity, a double bed, and a couple of bunks, this is a nice alternative. Guests have to use the campground bathhouse, but there is a water hook up, picnic table and grill there for your using.
2 NEW Rustic Cabins were added in 2005, bringing the total to 6; they have been extremely popular. They are 2-person rustic cabins, and you can see pictures of them on the Door County Camping Retreat website!
The Deluxe Camping Cabins all have a private bathroom with shower or a tub/shower combination. Dishes and cooking utensils are included, and the bedrooms may have a double bed or queen, a small sitting area, and may have a sleeper couch as well. These are a step up from the Rustic Cabins, as they have their own bathroom, which is nice. Picnic table, fire pit outside, and grill are also included. There are about 5 Deluxe Cabins.
NOTE: You must bring your own linens for either version of the cabins, and you can see lots of pictures of the camping cabins right on their website. So take a look for more information, rates and so on.
Groups
If you have a group, then Door County Camping Retreat can accommodate you in style! They have a special “group site” that can accommodate up to 20 tents, or up to 100 people and it’s all about 300 feet away from any of the other campsites! This is a great offering, and the site has water, picnic tables, fire pit, and even a dining canopy.
