You like candies and confections?  Well, once you set foot into one of the 5 Door County shops of Door County Confectionery, you will be whisked away to an old-fashioned candy shop, that will remind you of simpler, slower, more leisurely times.  You will be hard pressed to find a more complete shop.  In fact, you can even shop on their website!

With homemade chocolates, hard candy of every sort, salt water taffy displayed in claw-leg tubs, milk or white chocolate dipped pretzels – Door County Confectionery is the candy-lovers store – why, you’ll be like a kid in a candy store!

The first Door County Confectionery store was established in the quaint village of Fish Creek, in 1972.  This shop, nestled between the rocky bluffs and the cool, clear waters of Green Bay, has become a regular stop for people coming to Door County.  With 5 shops in Door County, with a website where you can make online purchases, and even with shops in Milwaukee and the Chicago area, you are never far from the simple pleasures of wonderful candy.

In the Sturgeon Bay shop, you can actually see them making their candies.  All of their chocolates are hand made by their professional staff of chocolate makers.  With over 30 years experience at this, Door County Confectionery has the knowledge and innovation to create the most delectable treats you can imagine.  They are famous for their Bear Paws, Sponge Candy, English Toffee and Fudge.

Who doesn’t love a candy shop?  Especially one that reminds you of “the old days.”  Kids and parents alike love the shops for the Salt Water Taffy, novelty candies, hard candies, soft licorice and confections of every kind.  Year after year, once you discover these shops, you will return.  Again and again.  Started by Judi Doman in 1972, this is still a family-run business, as her son Kurt is now at the candy controls.

This is one great place to go.  If you come to Door County and do not step foot in at least one of Door County Confectionery’s shops, then you are missing a great Door County tradition and some marvelous candies.  My family shops here on a regular basis because we find so many unique candies here that are just delicious – what a special treat!

We love these shops – the treats are special, delicious and even available online!  So order some now, and certainly make these shops a destination when you come up to Door County!  A scrumptious treat for yourself, the kids, or even for a gift for someone special!  Door County Confectionery  is sweet!
