Food/Dining : Fish Creek
Not
Licked Yet
4054
State Hwy 42
Fish Creek
920-868-2617

OK,
is it the frozen custard, the outdoor playground or the location right
next to, yes, the real Fish Creek which runs through right next to Not
Licked Yet that drives throngs of people to this place, and drives more
to return? Well, we think it's a little bit
of each!
Our
daughter likes the outdoor playground area as much as she likes the frozen
custard. The tremendous selection
of custards and combinations is mind-boggling. My favorite, an El Nina - a vanilla custard with raspberries
and chocolate sauce"..hmmmm.
I'd like one right now.
You
can choose from a whole lot of combinations and creative concoctions,
and even pick up a sandwich, like a hot dog, or two if you're hungry.
There are lines in the summer, but the effective and efficient
college students manning the counters move the lines quickly.
And, if you give them a little tip (drop some cash in their tip
jar so they can continue to go to college), they will yell in unison,
"THANK YOU!" Cute. Nice touch. It's worth the loose change or extra dollar bill. And you're a hero.
The
playground area, right along the Fish Creek, has swings, a climbing section
and lots of other playthings that keep young minds occupied and busy having
good, clean fun. One note
of caution: in summer, especially at night,
the bugs can be a bit much because of the Fish Creek. So be prepared. Most
of the time it's pretty good, though, and kids just have a grand old time.
Parents are eating frozen treats, kids are playing.
Sound good?!
When
the fish are running, you can sometimes see a fisherman in the creek with
big boots and a net catching a whole lot of fish.
Hey, "Fish Creek!"
Right
off of Hwy 42 in Fish Creek, drive down the ramp, get a frozen confection,
have a seat at one of the many tables along the creek and hill and have
a good time. In fact, wherever
you had dinner, skip the desert and head to Not Licked Yet. And oh, if you really want to sound like you are from here,
you'd say "Fish Crick."
Enjoy
your summer nights (or days) right here!
