Food/Dining : Sister Bay Cooper's Corner
Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, you can choose to sit on the street leve in their outdoor covered courtyard, or upstairs on the outdoor, covered terrace, complete with outdoor bar! Awesome design, first class all the way. The upper deck terrace is reminisient of an island escape with open air, covered dining, Panama fans, an outdoor bar that seats about 8 - 10 people, umbrellas to block the sun and open sides for viewing the town. A vaulter, curved ceiling of what looks like blond birch wood is stunning. For cooler nights, they have thought of it all, as numerous tall, propane heaters are about for your comfort.
Our Dinners
Our two reviewers orders the Cooper's Salmon, and the Pan-Seared Duck Breast. The dinners are a la carte, so we also ordered a cherry spinach salad. The dinners are served with bread, and for dipping we had garlic-infused olive oil and 16 year old balsamic vinegar. Tasty and delicious, the distinct flavors of garlic and extra virgin olive oil, and rich balsalmic were grand to the senses. The cherry spinach salad was presented in a large bowl, piles with spinach, almond slivers and sprinkles of bleu cheese. The dressing is a light cherry dressing, enhanced with dried cherries. This made for a perfect combination of sweet and tart, and was downright delicious. I had ordered a pinot noir to go with my salmon (which is usually a good choice). But because of the bourbon glaze, I would recommend something else - perhaps a crisp white might be a better balance to the sweetness of the bourbon maple glaze. The pan seared duck breast also was finished perfectly, and its lingonberry-green peppercorn demi glace added layers of flavor to this dish. There was a slight kick to the sauce, that tingles the tip of your tongue - but it was delicious. This dish was also served with wild rich and sautéed vegetables, as above. A Peninsula Porter was a flavorful complement to this dish. Our service was excellent too. Between the magnificent building with outdoor seating on the street level and on the upper terrace, the food, wine and beer selections, outdoor bar and islandy feel to the terrace, we think you will like the whole experience Cooper's Corner, in the heart of downtown Fish Creek. We will return again and again! So when you stop in for breakfast, lunch or dinner, make sure you tell the nice folks at Cooper's Corner, that DoorCountyNavigator.com sent you! |
