Santa Fe Shop

Fish Creek

Opened in 2006, this shop right in the heart of downtown Fish Creek is so appealing to the eye, that you can spend a lot of time here admiring the art that I like to say is for everybody.
The shop is loaded with unique items like the Sergio Bustamante Collection (from Guadalajara Mexico) of jewelry: rings, pendants, earrings, necklaces of gold and silver combination; as well as sculptures in this line. This shop is currently the only gallery in the United States authorized to carry his line of jewelry, according to the owners. The jewelry is stunning (visit their website) and the sculptures delightful. In fact, the gallery just began to carry his line of purses as well!
Other unique jewelry items are from New Mexico, made by Native Americans, mostly from the Navajo tribe, but also from the Zuni and Hopi. All are bursting with color with multi-color stone inlays using turquoise spiny oyster shell and many other stones.
Striking woolen wall hangings, runners, placemats and rugs made by Zapotec of 100% wool grace the walls and a table to the right as you enter. Colorful and inviting, this Zapotec™ Indian Weaving builds on a 2,000 year old heritage from the Oaxacan Valley of Southern Mexico, using fibers from their own roots and dyes strongly influenced by the Mayans, Aztecs and others. Unique and beautiful. The shop also carries rug rails so that you can select one and easily hang it upon your wall for a unique piece of art at home.
Other unique wall art, like photo images transferred to slate are designed by Sierra Slate Images™. Unusual and a conversation piece for sure.
A large selection of Mata Ortiz Pottery is offered, in bowls and lots truly inspirational vases. Also known as “Casas Grandes” pottery, this hand-built pottery is inspired by traditions near Chihuahua Mexico that had died out around the time of the Spanish conquest. Some of the pottery from this line has been featured in exhibitions and museums around the world.
You will also find the pottery of San Juan De Oriente, a town in Nicaragua with a long history of pottery making. All the vases are hand thrown, etched, colored with mineral oxides, and fired in a brick kiln. Used primarily fro dried flower arrangements, they add a sense of elegance to any home.
The shop also displays fancifully painted horses from the “Painted Pony” line – they are intriguing to look at, and come in a wide variety of color combinations and treatments. They are beautiful and any one who appreciates the beauty of a horse will find these “Painted Ponies” a fun addition to their home.
Oaxacan (pronounced Wa-Haw-Ken) Wood Carvings also are available, and offer an enchanting and whimsical touch. Each brilliantly colored figure is handmade from Copal wood from the hills surrounding the Oaxacan Valley. This is authentic folk art and no two pieces are identical.
This is art you can easily put into your home – walk in, like it, purchase it! Or visit the Sante Fe Shop website for more information.
This shop also offers glass art, and a variety of do specialty items, from books and frames to gourmet treats for that special dog of yours.
