Double whirlpools, cozy ambience — excellent! Fabulous inn!

We spent an hour and a half at Thorp House with the owner, Christine, and toured every room available in the main house, which in on the historic register. The owners are very meticulous in the upkeep, design and fine furnishings. The kitchen looks like it belongs in a magazine! We were very impressed with this inn, and we think couples will like it a whole lot! Oh, Christine claims to make the best scones anywhere - so when we were on the tour with her, we ate some and they were terrific! Try them and let us know!

Jan and Andy Coulson have done an outstanding job with this Inn that that was built in 1896! You will love the ambience, the restaurant, and the service! Remember the Newhart Show (where he runs an inn in Vermont?) Well, you feel like you stepped into that here. Another winner!

18 beautiful rooms — we know people who stay here every time they come to Door County and love it each time — for years and years! Antiques are everywhere, fireplaces, double whirlpools, and more! Dennis and Bonnie, along with inn manager Sally, make this place one of the best!

We have actually stayed in every room at this inn, and kept coming back. The rooms are generally small, in this historic building, but there are a couple of suites that give you a little sitting area, with a couch and a couple of wing back chairs. Very nice, very well done. Great location too!

We have assembled a list of florists in the Door County area for your absolute convenience! You should call ahead to make sure they have something you like, in the right price range, and can deliver it on time to the Inn or B & B where you will be staying. So be sure to call ahead — we have not been able to try out each one of these florists! Also, try to select a florist in the same town as you will be staying — makes it a lot easier, though most, we are sure, would not mind delivering to another town! Imagine, you turn the key to your suite or room, and there awaiting your special mate is a beautiful arrangement of flowers — all from you! How thoughtful! How delightful a start to your stay!

Don’t let the name fool you — this is a first class market to be sure — the best in Door County in our opinion. But Main Street also has a terrific wine selection, from $9 a bottle to $160! They must have close to 1,000 labels to choose from, and in every price range. You will find the perfect bottle of wine here for the in-house dinner you are preparing for your mate, or for your late evening nightcap in front of the fireplace! They also sell very nice wine glasses. In addition, they carry a huge selection of liquor, from the high end to the lower end of the scale, from Belvedere vodka to Smirnoff. And even lots of beer!

Park Concerts! Check the local newspapers for concerts in the park, and check our Calendar of Events too. These concerts are very nice, and you can bring a picnic lunch and enjoy a beautiful day. Egg Harbor at Harbor View Park, Sister Bay right o the lake at the gazebo in downtown Sister Bay, Fish Creek at Clark Park all do concerts on certain days of the week in peak season.
